Kanjiro
One of the most widely propagated sasanquas worldwide — a deep-rose-to-red hiemalis carrying at least eight synonyms across three languages.
Registered in 1954 and very widely propagated in Japan and internationally, this hiemalis (autumn camellia) cultivar is among the most commonly planted sasanqua-type camellias worldwide. The large semi-double flowers display deep rose shading to red at the petal margins. Known under at least eight synonyms including 'Hiryu' (in Australia), 'Utamakura,' 'Tachikan-tsubaki,' and 'Kankobai.'
