Edna Campbell Var.

Edna Campbell Var.
Praised by Truett as 'probably the best seedling that Mrs. Paul Brock has' — a large dark mahogany red with long, curling petals.
Described by Truett in the 1952 American Camellia Yearbook as 'probably the best seedling that Mrs. Paul Brock has,' this cultivar features distinctively long, slender petals in dark mahogany red — some opening flat while others curl back slightly — creating an informal, dynamic bloom. The semi-double flowers include stamens and some petaloids, appearing mid-season to late. A variegated form also exists. Listed locally as 'Edna Campbell Var.' Source: International Camellia Register.
