Yultide

Yultide
One of the most widely planted landscape camellias in America — a Nuccio's sasanqua with brilliant red singles and golden anthers that blooms reliably at Christmas.
One of the most widely planted landscape camellias in the United States, valued for its reliable Christmas-season bloom of brilliant red single flowers with golden anthers on a bushy, upright, dense shrub with small, very dark green leaves. Originated by Nuccio's Nurseries of Altadena, California, this five-year chance seedling first bloomed in 1959 and has since become nearly ubiquitous in Southern gardens, commercial plantings, and foundation beds. The compact growth habit and tolerance of pruning make it versatile for hedges, specimens, and containers. Listed locally as 'Yultide' and registered as 'Yuletide.'
