Walter Wilson
A thirty-year Augusta, Georgia seedling with fifty white formal double petals — one of the longest development periods in ACS registration history.
Originated by Walter A. Wilson of Augusta, Georgia, this seedling took an extraordinary thirty years to reach registration — among the longest development periods in ACS history and a testament to the patience required in camellia breeding. First blooming in 1962, the white formal double flowers carry fifty petals on upright, open growth at medium rate with dark green foliage. Listed locally as 'Walter Wilson' and registered as 'Walter A. Wilson.' Source: International Camellia Register.
