c. veitamensis

An 1843 Italian formal double by Sacco of Milan — soft rose petals rayed with white lines creating a star effect at the center.
Originated by Sacco of Milan, Italy, and illustrated with a detailed plate in Berlèse's 1843 Iconographie — one of the landmark nineteenth-century camellia publications. The flower measures ten centimeters across, full and regular, in delicate soft rose with white lines radiating toward the center to create a distinctive star effect. The petals are arranged in six rows, of average size, rather elongated, and lightly notched at the apex. Known under numerous orthographic variants. Listed locally as 'c. veitamensis' and registered as 'Sacco de Lainate.' Source: International Camellia Register.
