Whitman's Yellow

A fifty-three-petaled rose-form double that sometimes produces chartreuse tones — one of the few camellias approaching true yellow.
Originated by W.F. Homeyer Jr. of Macon, Georgia, as a chance seedling. The rose-form double flowers with fifty-three petals and five petaloids at times show chartreuse tones — approaching true yellow, one of the rarest colors in the genus. Growth is upright but slow with dark green leaves. First published in the American Camellia Yearbook. Listed locally as 'Whitman's Yellow' and registered as 'Witman Yellow.'
