Shirley Menice Var.

Shirley Menice Var.
A magenta-pink semi-double with unusual brushed lighter-pink markings and heart-shaped petals — from Marshallville, Georgia.
Originated by R.E. Dodd of Marshallville, Georgia, this chance seedling first bloomed in the early 1990s. The semi-double flowers are distinctive for their 14 to 15 heart-shaped petals in magenta pink with unusual brushed, lighter pink markings — a patterning described nowhere else in the collection. Bright yellow anthers and white filaments add contrast. Growth is upright with average spreading, flowering mid-season to late. Listed locally as 'Shirley Menice Var. (Gene Phillips)' and registered as 'Shirley Meneice.' Source: International Camellia Register.
