Red Lion Var.

A large flat semi-double with centre petaloids from E.G. Waterhouse — one of Australia's most celebrated camellia breeders.
Originated by E.G. Waterhouse of Gordon, New South Wales — one of the towering figures in Australian camellia culture, for whom the genus × Camellia 'E.G. Waterhouse' and numerous other cultivars are named. The large flat semi-double flowers display deep rose-red with distinctive centre petaloids. Growth is vigorous and compact. Has produced a variegated sport, 'Red Moon Variegated.' Listed locally as 'Red Lion Var.' and registered as 'Red Moon.' Source: International Camellia Register.
