Magnoliaeflora
The Western trade name for the ancient 'Hagoromo' — so widely used that many growers know this 1695 cultivar only as 'Magnoliaeflora.'
This is the same cultivar as 'Hagoromo' (id 219) but listed under its widely used Western trade name 'Magnoliaeflora' — so established in English-speaking camellia culture that many growers know the cultivar only by this name. The pink semi-double flowers on graceful growth have earned both the RHS Award of Merit (1953) and Award of Garden Merit (1993). One of the oldest cultivars in continuous cultivation, first documented in 1695. Source: International Camellia Register.
