Bev Piet Smiles
A large dark red and white bicolor from renowned California hybridizer Meyer Piet.
Raised by Meyer Piet of Arcadia, California — a prolific figure in American camellia hybridizing — this cultivar was grown from 1995 and registered in 2008. The substantial 11.5 cm blooms display a bold dark red and white bicolor pattern in semi-double to peony form, with yellow anthers and light pink to white filaments. Growth is average and upright with dark green foliage. Published in the ACS Camellia Journal in September 2008 with a color photograph. Listed locally as 'Bev Piet Smiles.'
