Kickoff
A Nuccio's original with light pink petals bearing dark markings, featured on the front cover of The Camellia Review in 1962.
Originated by Nuccio's Nurseries of Altadena, California, as a ten-year seedling of unknown parentage that first bloomed in 1957. The large peony-form flowers — 12.5 to 13 cm across by 7.5 cm deep — display light pink with distinctive dark markings. Growth is vigorous, upright, and compact, flowering early to mid-season. Featured on the front cover of The Camellia Review (SCCS, 1962, vol. 24, No. 2) and photographed in Macoboy's The Colour Directory of Camellias (1981). Listed locally as 'Kickoff' and registered as 'Kick-Off.' Source: International Camellia Register.
