Gene's Autumn Beauty
A strongly scented Australian single in rose pink with mauve tones — blooming very early in the season.
Originated at Camellia Grove Nursery of St. Ives, New South Wales, Australia, and registered in 1947. The single flowers display rose pink with mauve tonings to deep cyclamen, and carry strong fragrance — unusual among camellias. A very early bloomer with attractive open, upright growth. The name has been invalidly used in America as a synonym for 'Jeff's Watermelon Pink.' Listed locally as 'Gene's Autumn Beauty (Gene Phillips).' Source: International Camellia Register.
